Mecha: The combatants are set, now it's time to end the debate once and for all.
Ray: It's time for a Death Battle.
Virgil: AND A LOT OF BOOBY TIME, BABY!!!!
Ray: ..... You take this guy over Greed? How is that possible?
Mecha: This guy doesn't spend as much money as the last idiot, so that's a plus.
11:00 A.M
Instead of rugged battlefield or a dirt pile training ground, we find ourselves in the word of Smash Brothers! With the upcoming tournament in October, several fighters from across the multiverse look for the chance to appear in one of the most prestigious fighting tournament of all video games!
Needless to say, the sign-up booth were beginning to become crowded.
To settle this dispute, Smash Brothers directior, Masahiro Sakurai proposed an idea: to single out all the fighters with a tournament. The rules were simple: each fighter would be place into a branch of the tournament based on their fight style, and after beating all the fighters, the Victor will face off against a Veteran Smasher of the same class. If they beat him/her, they're in the roster.
The Swordsman Branch was filled with fierce master's of the blades! From vengeful berserkers, to the most stoic of individuals,, but eventually, one person remained standing above all else. They say her hair was as scarlet as blood, and her way with weapons took out most of the competition.
For the finals of the Swordsman Branch, many gathered in the official Smash Brother's Stadium. The seat were filled with many different races from across the worlds, all together for the chance of a lifetime. With everyone properly seated, a big screen monster turned on to show a giant human hand in the center of a room.
This was Master Hand.
M.H: Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for coming to this wonderful event! Now before we begin, I would like to ask you all a question; ARE YOU READY FOR SMASH?!?!
The entire stadium exploded in cheer at the announcement.
M.H: That's what I like to hear! Now then, in this corner, we have the winner of the Swordsman Branch! She's the legendary Titania of Fairy Tail, the scarlet nightmare, the beautiful swords woman, the Strongest Woman in Fiore; I give you, ERZA SCARLET!!!!
With her name called out, Erza step from one of the area entrances and the crowds went absolutely nuts. Erza was a surprising cute woman with hair of wavy scarlet, and silver armor befitting of a Knight with a cross in the front. As she walked to the center, Erza waved at the cheering crowd, with a big smile on her face; she was glad her friends convinced her to enter the tournament! Never had she seen a world so filled with life, color, and excitement.
With Erza in the center of the area, Master Hand announced the other fighter.
MH: And in this corner, a Veteran Smasher that's been fighting since the first Smasher tournament! He's the Hero of Time, the defender of Hyrule, the Emerald Kjight, the one, the only, LINK!!!
The cheers this time were even louder than when Erza came in. Clearly this Link was very popular around these parts.
Coming from another tunnel came a blonde haired man with pointed ears, wear a green tunic and shirt with a green cap on his head. Like Erza, Link waved to the cheering crowd, with a sincere smile on his face.But as he locked eyes with Erza, she knew right away that this man was not only a warrior, but a very experienced one at that.
As the Link finally reached the center stage, Erza decided to break the tension.
Erza: It is honor to meet you Link. From what I've heard, your skills and bravery are something legendary.
Link simply bowed his head at t he compliment.
Erza: Ah, a man of few words, are you?
Link simply nodded his head in response.
Erza: Very well. (Holds out a hand for Link to shake) Then let our skills do the talking and may the best one win!
Link nodded in agreement, as he took Erza's hand and shook it firmly. As their eyes met, a spark of eagerness crossed them, with both knights eager for a challenge.
MH: Smasher, take your positions!
With that, Erza and Link walked to the opposite sides of the area. Link drew his legendary Master Sword from it's sheath along with his trusty Hylian Shield, as Erza conjured a flash of light, which brought forth a broadsword with two wings at the guard, and Erza held it in her left hand
MC: Players set! Ready.........
GO!!!!!!/FIGHT!!!!!!!
It wasn't even a second after the announcement before they were at each other. Sparks flew as the Master Sword and Erza's sword clashed. Erza swung for Link’s head only to see him do a backwards flip to avoid it and go for a thrust with his sword, but Erza caught the blade as she held her sword in a reverse grip to guard it.
Erza pushed back Link’s sword as she jumped backwards. Then a bright flash of light engulfed her and as it faded, a new suit of armor had taken Erza's old one. It was silver all over and had the look of a Nordic valkyrie, though it did show off her chest and stomach too much.
And people thought a man wearing a green skr- I mean, tunic, was bad enough.
Erza went on the attack as she summoned several blades to her side and off they went towards the Hylian, looking like blue lights as they moved. Link was on the move as the blades chased him around the arena, occasionally batting away a random blade with either his sword or shield. But having enough of running, Link grinded to a halt as he faced the storm of metal and pain with his shield in front and sword at the side.
As the barrage of blades came, at the last second, Link spun around like a wild top with his sword extended outward. The onslaught of metal was met with a spinning blade, as most of the flying swords met with shattered metal or deflected to the side. But as the momentum died down, Erza swooped down at Link from the air and as she rushed by him, Erza swung her sword at Link in the form of a pentagram. But thanks to the Red Ring and his endurance, it didn't take long for Link to strike back at Erza as he swung his sword through the air, sending an arc of energy - a Skyward Strike- towards the scarlet - haired valkyrie to take advantage of her weakness.
At least, that was what Link though at the time.
Instead, Erza once again summoned more swords, and with a call of "Dance my blades!!", she gathered them into a large ring and with a thrust of the sword in her hand, the ring expanded. When it met the Skyward Strike, a small explosion occurred, as the blades flew in all directions, many of them planted firmly in the ground. But Link still charged at Erza, and with a jump to the air, he came down on the S-Class Mage with a downward srtike, of which Erza parried with her own sword.
But Link still came at Erza viciously, striking at her from every angle. The armor could do little for Erza at the rate her opponent was going, so maybe it's time for something with a more bite to it. Once again, a bright flash of light surrounded Erza and this time, the armor was pure black with silver crosses, wings of a dragon or bat, her hair in a ponytail, and once again, it showed off her stomach and chest.
Erza summoned two axes to fight with as she swung with right axe, Link having caught it with the Master Sword, then she swung her left axe, with Link defending himself with his shield. Now the situation had reversed with Erza on the attack with Link defending himself as Erza's attacks kept getting stronger with each hit. It was almost like fighting that blonde swordsman...... wait that's it!
With a plan in hand, Link did several back flips to avoid Erza's attacks, before he landed to reach into his pocket and pulled out his Gale Boomerang, of which he threw at Erza's head. She simply turned her head to the side and let it fly by her before continuing her assault.
Link pulled back the string of the bow and with a keen eye, he let loose the flame arrow on it's target; the bomb that Link had thrown eariler. The impact of the flame arrow hitting the bomb caused a great explosion which echoed throughout the stadium.
Erza flew, towards Link as he sheathed his sword and shield as he pulled out his Hero’s Bow, this time holding an arrow with a blue mist around the tip. As he let loose the arrow, Erza had the sense to slash the air to send a stream of fire towards, knowing full well of Link’s tricky arrows. Her cautious move proved true as when the arrow reached the flame, it defied all sense of logic as the flame turned to ice in mid air and crashed into the ground.
Link started firing arrow after arrow at the dragon - themed mage as her flames proved ineffective against the ice, so she decided to change tactics. As Erza flew to the top of a pillar, she Requiped herself a new armor; this time, it was a golden, light bluish armor resembling a Greek goddess of sorts and she carried a spear which has two spearheads at the front if it. Erza twirled around the spear like a baton before pointing it in Link's general direction, as a beam of lightning discharged from the tip of the spear.
Link ran across the area, deflecting the lightning bolts with a slash of his sword. In one in stance, Link simply stood still and held his sword up as the lightning came down all around him. A dirt cloud formed when the stray bolts hit the ground, and Erza kept a close eye on where Link would show himself. A loud noise came from the dust cloud as a long chain tipped with three claws pinned itself on the top of a taller pillar as it pulled Link towards it.
As Link was pulled through the air, Erza took potshots at him with her lightning magic. But as the lightning came closer to him, Link simply held his sword in front and to Erza's shock(no pun intended), the Master Sword actually took in the lightning, as evident by the crackle of electricity surrounded the blade as it glowed. But then Erza turned her attention to the pillar Link was flying to and shot it with a bolt of lightning, causing it to topple over, bringing him along with it.
Or that would have happened if Link didn't equip his Hover Boots while in the dirt cloud as evident by the fact he was standing on empty air like a invisible platform. Link swung his sword through the air as he launched a Skyward Strike but because of the absorbed Lightning magic, it was bigger than usual. Erza grimaced at the sight of it; her armor could take the lighning but the other magic was another story.
With a quick Ex-quip change, Erza changed into a bulkier suit colored dark is blue and white, with two halves of a shield. As the combination of holy light and lightning drew closer, Erza brought the two halves together to form a massive shield, as the Skyward Strike collided with it. Though the shield protected her, the force of the attack sent Erza crashing into the ground.
Link landed as he looked towards the spot which Erza had crashed, pulling out his bow and aiming a Light arrow towards it. But this proved useless since a yellow blur rushed forth from the cloud as it rushed at Link and before he could react it knocked him down.
As he tried to get back up, the yellow blur stop to turn around as everyone in the audience got a look at Erza's wardrobe; it consisted of a fancy attire bearing reminiscence to a cheetah as she held a rapier in her hand. Erza dashed at Link once more, barely able to raise his shield before the cat-like mage out speeded him and knocked him down again. As Erza used a U-turn, Link brought up a greater force of defense by casting Nayru's love and the form of a a giant diamond that surrounded him, which proved unbreakable as Erza's weapon simply bounced off the diamond.
Erza: I'm not the kind of person who falls for the same trick twice. As a fellow warrior, I thought I should let you know that.
Erza charged at Link once more, holding her spiked club upward like she was going to crush a fly with a newspaper. Link desperately looked to see if he had anything to work with, then he realized just where he landed; it was next to a pillar just like the one Erza knocked over eariler.
Grabbing his Golden Gauntlets, Link bended his knees as put his hands underneath the pillar as he liffted up. Suddenly, the ground started to shake as slowly but surely, the pillar was being slowly lifted into the air until Link could hold it over his head. He then swung the pillar down like a giant hammer towards Erza in a downward arc.
Facing the falling pillar of stone with only a determined look her face, Erza swung her club towards it as the sheer force of just swinging it sliced the pillar in half. But that's just what Link was counting on as he was on Erza with the Pegasus Boots, holding a giant silver hammer and he swung it at Erza, sending her flying.
But Erza was a girl who wasn't going to take pain without giving it back. As she tumbled through the air, Erza planted her club into the ground, turning it to an anchor for herself as she held it. Not two seconds later, Erza gave herself an armor which had several sea animals put into it's design and a sword with a blade made of crystal. With a fierce jab of her sword, Erza sent a sickle of water toward Link.
The sudden rush of water caught Link off guard getting him drenched so fast that he was sent rolling but Erza wasn't finished yet as a bright light appeared in her as it turned into a the spear she held in the Lightning Empress Armor. With a twirl and a thrust, lightning once again rained on Link and with the water from Erza's last attack, Red Ring or not, the pain was unreal.
Any more attacks like that and he wouldn't stand a chance, he needed to end this now. And he had just the trump card to do it. As he picked himself, Erza simply stared at him, waiting for his next move. He certainly made it alright; one minute he was wearing his green attire, then the next, he was in a golden armor with black stockings.

Link as if given new energy, made off into a mad dash towards Erza with his sword held high. Erza launched her water and lightning combo, first launching the water sickle, then firing multiple lightning bolts from her spear as the deadly combination of water and lightning rushed forward. But Link did not falter in his charge, even going as far as going straight into the magic, only to jump out of it and strike at Erza with a Skyward Strike. Erza jumped to the right, just as the attack hit the ground where she once stood.

Erza looked back towards the still charging Link; if it was the armor was tough enough to walk through er magic, then she was going to need something more potent. With a bright flash of light, Erza donned an armor of green jade with Erza's hair in a ponytail, as she was holding a very large jousting lance.
Erza held her weapon with both hands as she mirrored her fellow knight and placed the lance in front as she charged. Dashing across the field, Erza and Link collied as Erza's lance hit Link's shoulder as he was pushed back by the size of the lance and Erza's strength. But with no pain to restrict his movements, Link swung his sword to dislodge the lance from his shoulder and lunged at Erza but she had already used a backflip to avoid and in mid-flight, she had already changed into a simple outfit of a sarashi, with a flame patterned bottom hakama.

Armed with a simple katana, Erza focused her magic power into the blade, and dashed towards Link. Erza attacked with great force, hitting Link from every angle, but Link wasn't one to go down quietly and he fought back just as hard. Jabs were met with backhanded blocks, overhead slashes were met with slashes of their own; both master's of the sword were best known for their unwavering will and as such, they were willing to fight till the other side stayed down! The audience could only gazed in silence at the spectacle in front of them, the sword fight becoming comparable to a beautiful dance.
But at one point in the fight, Link had been charging for a Skyward Strike, waiting for the right time to use it. It's time came as Erza's sword came down on Link's Hylian Shield, and with a great shove, he pushed away the sword for a second, but that's all he need. Before Erza could retaliate, Link spun around to use his Spin Attack and mixed a Skyward Strike into it, creating a large ring of light that collided that cut every thing in a 8 meter radius. The impact of being at the center of the attack caused Erza to soar straight into a wall.

Link having defeated his foe, switched from his Magic Armor back into his classic green attire. He then started to walk towards the tunnel out of the stadium.
"Started to" being the keyword here.
Erza: LINK! OUR BATTLE IS NOT OVER YET!!!
Link froze in mid walking as he turned towards the spot where Erza had crashed and sure enough, Erza Scarlet was still standing! Despite the damage from the hit earlier on, and her most recent one, Erza still look raring to go for another round.
Erza: I still have one more ace up my sleeve. From one honorable warrior to another, will you please grant me one final strike between the both of us?!
Link contemplated this though for a minute. He only had a few rupees to fuel the Magic Armor before it ran out. But who was he to deny the request of someone as skilled as her? Link raised his sword to the sky for a Skyward Strike, and he equipped his Magic Armor, as he face Erza with a smile that seemed to say "Give me your best shot." Erza recognizing Link's answer accordingly-
Erza: Second Origin, release!!!!
A light that shined even brighter than her Ex-quip magic could make, surrounded Erza. Link readied himself for what could happen as the light died out to reveal Erza in what could be the last armor of the fight; an elegant armor composed of a short blue robe trimmed gold which is largely open in the middle, revealing much of Erza's chest. The robe is tied together at the waist with a simple red ribbon held together by a gold bead. The robe has elegant multi-layered trim. She wears two large blue gloves which have gold trims flaring out in the ends. The gloves have red ribbons tied around the wrist and are adorned in a simple pattern of gold dots. She wears a large golden pauldron over each shoulder, bearing the image of a lion with an open mouth. She has blue and gold leggings which match the gloves in their pattern and design. Around the leggings are a pair of gold greaves. The knee plates contain a pattern similar to the tiara she wears. The greaves themselves match the pattern of her robe. Atop her head sits a tiara consisting of two blue rhombus shaped pieces to each side and a center blue triangular shaped piece. Each piece has a gold adornment inside. Two strands of hair from the sides of her head are each tied together by a golden bead with an intricate swirling pattern. Behind her is a large white sash which loops above her head with the ends hanging out towards the ground with a bead on each end. Erza carries with her a large halberd with a golden circular hand guard in the center. The blade is quite large with a semi circle of small rhombuses on the other side. A purple cloth is tied right below the blade
This was Erza's strongest armor to date; the Nakagami Armor!
Erza: Come forth Link of Hyrule! Let's show everyone here who is the greater warrior!
Link fiercely nodded, as the two legendary warriors stared each other down, waiting for the other to make a move. Link made a mad dash for Erza, as she simply stood there readying her halberd. Before Link reached Erza, he once again went for his Skyward Strike, Spin Attack combo as he spun around when he was in striking distance, Erza swung her halberd towards the Master Sword
Erza: NAKAGAMI STARLIGHT!!!!!
Link: HYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
Erza Scarlet's Halberd and Link’s Master Sword may have collided, but seemingly, nothing occurred. Suddenly, a bright light emulated from the point of impact before surging into a great shockwave so powerful, everyone in the audience, and even Master Hand, struggled to keep themselves from being blown away.
As the shockwave died down, the audience got a good look at the result of the clash; Erza and Link were facing each other, both looking the worst for wear. Link was back in his regular green tunic and Erza was in a black tank-top that hugged her chest and black shorts. They wore no armor, their weapons scattered across the arena, and they looked like they were about to collapse at any moment.
Exhausted from the injuries, Erza fell till she was on one knee, using her arm to support. She looked towards Link, but she got when he looked back was bizarre; he looked Erza in the eye with a pleased look as he slowly raised his hand to give her a thumbs up to her. With a smile planted across his face, Link collapsed face first into the ground, with what was now a broken Master Sword by his side.
Erza, the crowd, even Master Hand simply stood there in silence at what just happened. Until......
Master Hand: AND THE WINNER OF THE SWORDSMANSHIP TOURNAMENT IS ERZA SCARLET OF FAIRY TAIL!!!!!!!!
The crowd exploded as confetti, music, and cheers filled the air. Erza looked onward to the downward Link as tears filled her eyes and a smile crossed her fight. Though he may have lost, Link found himself a kindred spirt in Erza.

Virgil: ........... HOLY STICK ON A POPO, THAT WAS AMAZING!!!
Mecha: This had to be one of the closest matches in my viewing career. It can be interpreted that Erza and Link have the same level of intelligence as it only took them a single moment to counter each.
Ray: While Link may have held up in the defense apartment as well as endurance, Erza's combinations and strength kept Link on his toes.
Virgil: Now many of you might be asking,"What the heck happened at the end?" Well, it's said that when Erza wears the Nakagami Armor, she can basically screw the rules of magic and cut anything she wants with enough weapons, even the indestructible Master Sword and the magic.
Mecha: It may have taken 5 days to write, but we finally have a winner.
